Hi !
I just picked up a Danny from one of my local club fliers. I'm looking for some setup Info. CG, Tow hook position, Rudder and elevator throws, and Spoiler throw plus any elevator compensation. I know these are subjective to each persons flying style. Any help from fellow Danny pilots would be nice. Thanks!

Congratulations,
You will be hard pressed to find another RES model that will give you this level of performance and feel so natural to fly. For your Cg and Hook place the front wing bolts in the fuselage pod. Looking at the pod from the side the Center of the Tow Hook is 2"from the center of the bolts to the center of the vertical shank on the hook. The CG is just behing the hook but this is best adjusted to your comfort. I use 1.5" each way on the rudder and 1.25" each way on the Stabilator. Center line your servos end to end in the pod and use the second hole out on the spline. You can fit a CMH 1300 flat pack from Cermark, standing upright in the nose. The large throws will give you good response even at the low speeds this model is capable of. If you are uncomortable with the resonse at high speed a little expo will soften it up. Make sure and mount the pushrods to 3/33" x 1/4"x 36" Balsa sticks let a couple of inched extend of the aft end. I Cyano the housing to a 3/32" side and lightly lace the housing t the stick with kevlar thread. Glue the housing where it exits the fuselage and under the inside of the wingmount. This will give you a slopfree pushrod installation yielding superb control response. Good luck you made a great choice. Larry Jolly

Way to go, Larry O! I've missed seeing you at the field the last two times I've been up. Good luck with the Danny. Give the AVA's a run for their money.

I have it set up so the tow hook is at 2". I balanced it by hanging it from the tow hook with the tail down ever so slightly, from what I can tell its about an 1/8" behind the center of the hook. How wide is the CG range? I like to fly neutral to a little on the tail heavy side. Thanks For your help!!

That sounds like a reasonable place to start. Make sure you can make some of the ballast removable in case this position is to safe for you. Be careful with low circling flight until you are sure about your comfort level. Really a fun airplane, let me know how you like it. Larry

I flew the Danny today. I had about a half dozen trim flights and than the fun began. I got my 15 minute LSF II flight in and two spot landings. I had some real good flights. One of the more fun of the day was an 11 minute one that I never got above 200' and about 8 minutes of that wasn't above 100'. it was a big bubble that wouldn't let go of the ground and wasn't real strong. The Danny just tiptoed in the bubble in a big flat circle and wouldn't go up but a foot or two per circle.
Larry, I just wanted to thank you a gain for the setup info!!!!

I was there for this flight, and it was amazing, it was so low, I thought I could reach up and touch it. It just kept flying.
