I am posting in case a Shadow owner is willing to share their cg as a starting point for the toy that showed up at my doorstep today. Then again, most are probably at the F3J WC...The glider is built very well - equal or better quality than the Vision. I cannot wait for the maiden.

Where did you get your Shadow from? Directly from Mibo or a distributer here in the US?

Call Soaring USA (www.soaringusa.com) they have the Shadow listed for $1,099
I bought a Vision from them, the packing was fabulous, the discount was tremendous and the whole process from California to Houston took three days ! From now on, the first place I will look for new planes will be Soaring USA !

Hi, you guessed it right. We (it's three of us) got them from Bob. Excellent service, extremely well packaged products, nice guy, and Annette is helpful and very nice, too...I could go on. He has my continued business.
Consensus in the replies regarding my question here as well as other places (RCnetwork.de, Mibo, etc) is 40% and follow the setup for the Xperience (http://www.mibomodeli.com/slike/XperiencePROsettings.pdf) (which has the towhook in a conservative [?] location relative to the cg). I also very much enjoy flying the Vision (my setup is very close to this one (http://www.mibomodeli.com/slike/SettingforVISION.pdf) ). The glider performs very well in light lift and also in strong and gusty wind (up to 30 mph). We are admitting to become converts to Gordy's approach to dialing in the cg, as documented here (http://skss.org/wpress/?page_id=59) .

pteromorph,
How so you like your Shadow and Vision? I'm very interested in hearing more about the Shadow...I am very close to ordering one. I was torn about whether to chose the Shadow or the Pike Perfect but after some discussion with Mike Lee...the Shadow is at the top of my list.
It would be great to get more feedback about it...
