I got a bladerunner from the discovery store for $49 and am having a blast. I timed a 9 minute flight and today an 8 minute flight. I ususally fly 7 minutes and then recharge. I am assuming it has a small lithium? I have flown r/c since 1964 and have had numerous helis. This thing is fun and amazing. The disc loading is so small that it makes the perfect indoor flyer :)

9 minutes is pretty good, be sure to lube it up though, the little N20 motors can burn up quick! the lipo is somewhere between a 250mah and 345mah. its an excellent little bird, good for those rainy or windy days for sure. there's a huge amount of mods here in the threads that'll give you the most out of it, and some replacement parts links too - they can come in handy ;)

Thanks guys

Can I use tri flow to lube and where are you applying the lube?

tri flow should work, but its conductive, so you'll have to keep it away from the electrical stuff (no motors). WD-40 is non conductive, so it would work on the motors, but i would suggest liquid graphite. they sell it at hardware stores, usually meant for loosening up siezed locks. it doesnt take much, just a couple little drops on the motor bushings, and anywhere else that moves (rotors, drive shaft bushings, ect).

I recently posted a guide to lubing the BR - Look a little past half way down on the main page to find it. Doesn't anybody bother to read through the different posts on these pages? Sheesh!

the br works 100% better if you remove the body and do the 'spacerless spacer mod' aswell:)

and motor blackening may give longevity to the motors(?)

good flying sir!

And here is the link to the "spacerless spacer mod" :

There are a few skeptics about the black motor thing, but you can take my word for it, IT WORKS! Very well! Scratch up the motor cans with coarse sandpaper (increases surface area), and blacken them with a black Sharpie pen. You can Google for the Stefan-Boltzman Law of physics, but you can get the idea by thinking about why car radiators are black - to get rid of heat, of course!
Anything that absorbs heat easily, also radiates heat better than a bright, shiny surface does. A black car that has veen sitting in the Arizona desert will lose heat faster, when covered by shade, than a white car will.
