I post this question and picture over here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4520729/tm.htm

But havent gotten any info so I will try here as well.

I would like to scratch build a rigger with the rear lifting wing design but for a larger gas powered boat. Can anyone recommend a airfoil? Or how to figure lift at given speeds and area? The picture is of the only rigger designed this way from what I know.

I need space (hull) for the electronics, so a thick airfoil would serve well. And it would need to support say... 65% of the total weight (11 lbs) at 80 mph and let the other 35% rest on the front sponsons for stability. As the rear rises. The angle of attack up front and in the rear decreases. My design will allow the rear wing to be adjusted compared to the front.

Arnt there any calcs which can get me in the ballpark? I need a airfoil close to what is in the picture. The leading edge must be higher than the bottom plane. And a source I can print and adjust size for my plans. No more than 12" wide.

Thanks

What Dick Hanson said applies.. if you don't copy an existing form, you have to fiddle around until you get one that works.
What you want exists as the "Hydrofoam" in essence.
A land-water-air machine.

Thanks.

Can you recommend a site which offers downloadable airfoil shapes I can fool around with? Resize and print etc?

I'd google on Hydrofoam.. and see what comes up.

Here you go....

I know the Germans use a similar lifting body on their straight line boats but the rear horizontal tail was a flat plate. They're shooting for 140mph this year!!

Thanks! I picked the MH60 and increased the cord 25%

Yes the Germans know their electrics. Have you watched any of the videos? http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/record_breaking_120.htm

Yep, I've seen them go in person.
