Hello,

Can you tell me what is the maximum Input Current and input Watts for B40-8L motor? I have one with gearbox in an Ion glider, and will be using it for limited-motor-run climbs with a folding prop. I plan to run on 3S2P lipos.

Thanks,

Looks like you are good for 45 amps for 15 seconds, or 30 amps continuous. 600 watts total.

You might be better off going for a 4s pack for limited motor runs. Lighter weight and more watts!

mstone - that's exactly what I was looking for! Thank You. It looks like the 8-turn is a bit too high Kv for my application and I would have to prop down too much to keep the motor within limits.

I would say that it should be OK with a 13 X 8 to 14 X 9.5 should be in the 50 to 75 range.

I don't have those exact sizes, but I tried a 14X10 and it still pulled 79 amps... I'm going to try and trade for a 10-turn or maybe sell and buy a lower Kv. I would like to maintain the larger prop size in the 15-16 inch range.

Thanks,

Mike
