Race announcement.

This coming Sunday July 9th. Location will be announced by Friday before 8 PM. Presently location choices are White Point and Grass Mtn. According to NOAA there appears to be a change in SoCal weather patterns coming Sat. Excellent wind through Friday but unclear what will happen wind wise from Sat on.

With all this heat WP at the beach sounds real good. Deserts are just going to be hot and Grass with its elevation will be around 80 so not bad. I would like to do Grass to get some inland slope practice for those going to Scotland as we only have two more comps before going.

After reading NOAA and everything else til blue.... we are going to White Point. Grass could work as well if it doesn't go to far West. Forecasts and real time are quite different. For Example Torrance called for 8-12 SW and is was 15 WNW. That translates to above 20 at WP. Also there is a turn of more heat coming Sat thru Sunday.

Bob M and I were at WP yesterday. Best guess IF you flew well near 40 sec air when it was good, upper 40's when it wasn't. It was a handful, my brain was good for about 12 legs and I needed a break. All sounds good, but WP was a bit intimidating at times.

Much Much Cooler at WP. Even Grass will be 90ish. Palmdale and the high desert is supposed to be 101 with light winds.

There you go. Going for a Noon start but we will see. Setup around 11 to 11:30 Wish us luck.
