Hi guys I built this Dumas kit started two years ago got it going last summer. With the help of a friend at the hobby shop I did all the work he gave the advise I bought the 67 osp from the owner boats 36in. I asked him how fast would it go about fourty I think I offended him He said it sure aint going to be no tug boat his enginre builder modified it. I slamed the motor down as low as possible. Its a beast the only time the bottom of the boat touches the water is when you hit a wake or are in a turn. Heres a couple pics . Dave

Its been upside down a bunch running it in a chop too big for the boat. Just drain the water pull the glow plug wheel it over to get the water out and fire it back up. I know the boat wont come apart I beat it to death on its maiden voyage I love the sound of the wood cracking off the wake. Motor is running strong and thats on 30 percent nitro. the motor was built to run on 40 or 50 percent but I am using 30 to extend the life.Dave

I think I'm missing something. What's the 'cogged' belt(?) in one of the pictures?

That belt is how you start the motor. It takes a big boat 12 volt marine battery to turn it over using a starter made for planes. I will post pic if you want. I tryed to start it with a 12volt drycell that is used to start planes but it dont work.If you look close right close to the motor on the fly wheel theres a grove in the flywheel that the cog belt fits in then you take the starter that has the grove the same as flywheel and with one hand hold the boat down the other you pull up on the belt and hit the starter button and this spins the motor over.
