I'm approaching finishing time on my Dumas wood airboat. I've read many different suggestions here and on the plane site. The boat will be painted, not stained. Should I seal the whole thing first with thinned epoxy or just sand and prime the exposed areas? I've read Rustoleum and Krylon work well if cured for several days before coating with thinned epoxy. I imagine a few coats of thinned epoxy should give a smooth, gloss finish. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I have sealed all the interior surfaces with epoxy before closing them in. :)

I would seal the exposed areas with thinned epoxy, sand it down and apply another coat of unthinned epoxy and sand again.
