P-38 VIDEO!

I flew the 4, 5,and 6th flight today on the P-38. The Setup was 2 2dog21 motors, 8060 props, and 2 11.1V Xpower 1000 20C batts. Most of the flight is at 1/2 throttle, includingthe climbs. The plane does not have a rudder, but you can do cool Stall Turns by jocking the throttles.

It flew great and I would suggest the 3s setup.
We are working on the package deals and they should be on the website this week.

Enjoy the Video!

Mike Connally Just stopped by with his P-38!

His is slightly modified. He has added double rudder high speed hand wound CD-Roms and mixed throttle for differential thrust. He mixed throttle to rudder and rudder to throttle with about 30% mixing. I have not tried this yet maybe next week.

He is going to fly it indoors this weekend at Midland!

Total weight 15 oz.

First off thanks mark for the quick shipping!

Ok so about build the directions are real basic and I assume they think you know about building foam kits!

they show show a picture of some basic tools required a xacto knife a glue gun and some heavy duty paper cutters.

1. the first thing I did was layout all the parts to see where it all goes, I then broke it down and put it into sections the way i would build it!

the first step was to turn the wings over and glue them together, next I grabbed my dremel and cut a slot for the carbon wing rod.

then being very careful I used a new #11 xacto knife and made a straight cut per the instructons for both ailerons and the elevator, I then folded them back and cut a 45 angle cut so the ailerons would move freely! (I did the elevator the same way)

I then hot glued the left and right fuselage together this took me about 10 minutes!

And then I had to apply the decal for the main fuselage (this is real tricky as the decal really sticks good so get it right!)

I then had only 5 parts to put together

1. right side piece
1. left side piece
1. main fuselage piece
1. wing piece
1. Elevator piece.

I then took the motor mounts and decided to line tem up and cut out enough of the foam to make them fit snug!

I then pieced everything back together and tacked it all in place with a little hot glue. then after I made sure it was all straight I glued it all in place.

About 1 1/2 hours I got as far as you se it in the pictures! and I also was takng pictures as I was went!

Great question?

The manual does not show much information about radio or electronics installation so I told mark at www.2dogsrc.com where I bought my kit that I would post pictures of my build to help others. I have another profile p38 and I'm going to break out the information for the location of the CG on it this plane is just a larger sacle of the same plane so the CG should be located in about the same place!

I will post the results asap!

Hey Guys,

I have the CG at the top of the Canopy. Mike brought his over and has his about 1 inch past the peak of the canopy.

This is really not the best forum to put a build thread.
You will get many more people looking in the FOAMIES Forum for a build thread.

But that's just my opinion
