Sabre 35 ES ARF - $79.99 plus shipping

LIMITED QUANTITY!
Are your ready for the next level of 3D performance in a smaller plane? Due to the design’s very thin wing, the flight envolpe is broader than that of standard 3D “fun-fly” planes . The E Sabre design is very responsive with rock solid harriers and a wide speed range.
Designer, Gary "Spaz" Caruso, used interlocking laser cut pieces to add stiffness and strength. The fuse is carbon fiber reinforced for to take the stresses fo real 3D flight. Combine all that with powerful oversized control surfaces and you have the recipe for a killer 3D machine. If you are looking for an easy to build ARF that is truly designed for hard core 3D at a reasonable price then the Sabre ES is just what you are looking for.

Billy, You always have great American made products, but you did not say here that it's the case. Is this plane a Proudly made in the USA, or is this another China crap product to hit American shelves?

Great question 50% but I don't think you can paint with such a broad brush.
The Sabre is made by Accel Hobbies. The plane is designed by Gary Caruso.
For those of you that visited the BHRC both at Joe Nall you probably met Gary. He helped out along with Paul Swany (Mojo designer) and Jeremy Chinn (Chinn Yakk designer).
I have gone to great lengths to produce an ARF made in the USA. It has been a long road but the Billy Hell RC/Nikitis Arf is a reality and in stock. While the US ARF is tops in quality, quantity is the hard part. The question is do you just sell one ARF or look for other great ARFs to bring to the RC world? I'm all for more airplanes.
To answer your question the Sabre ES is made in China. To make sure that there is consistent quality I had a trusted builder and pilot (BewynBill) go to the warehouse and check the fit and build of the ARFs to make sure they were up to the standards you and I would expect.
The Sabre is almost totally laser cut and the parts fit together like a puzzle. This makes it easy for the builders to get it right every time. The fuse has multiple pieces of carbon fiber reinforcements to make it stiff and strong. The design is also key and once again Gary Caruso (Spaz) has designed an amazing 3D capable plane.
It will be very hard for any ARF to live up to the quality of the MOJO ARF but the Sabre is soundly constructed, easy to build and a great flying electric profile 3D plane.
I will only sell an airplane I would buy and I would buy the Sabre.
Thanks for taking the time to ask about it.

So no "unobtainium" in this one eh? Looking forward to getting one, looks sweet.

I too wish we could more American made stuff, but haveing seen what it took to get one done and how hard it's been to get the quanity needed (Hey, it's a bad ass plane, so everyone wants it!!) I have to ask what can you do?

If there were a Sabre US made and one China made, I'd buy the US in a heart beat, but if all I get to choose is China or none, I'll go China!

Mike, mine didn't have any instructions but it's pretty straight forward. I had a question about the LG and PM'd Spaz and he lined me out. There were 2 ply pieces about 1/4" x 3/4" or so and a couple of 2-56ish screws that are not used.

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM and I bet I can get you going.

Hey Gasser...welcome to the hood. I can't answer your question, but I didn't want you to think you were invisible. You might ask on the Bro site...Chucky will probably answer you!!

Anyone flying this?

I just came back from the maiden. Can't say much at all about the plane and performance as the winds were kicking butt and I was between two large stands of trees that complicated things even more. I can say that the Park 480/910 and 2100PL seem to be a more than adequate power plant for it and she balanced well with battery in the wing. When I bumped the stick forward she jumped off the ground like a foamy and was super responsive fighting the crazy gusts that were whipping through the school yard. Lost about 30 ft in less than a half second at one point and I think a few drops came out. After a few exciting minutes of flight (?) I found a relatively calm spot in the field where wind was pretty consistant and set her down in a harrier with no drama. Looks like it's gonna be a real scream to fly if the weather ever calms down.

Only slightly negative comment thus far is the gear is a bit spindly and will get crazy on any rough terrain. Other than that I'm happy as a clam so far and can't wait for a windless/warm day.

I ran a piece of small wire across the gear, just above the axles to tie them together. This keeps them from splaying out. Still fairly squishy, but you can land like that and not add hardly any weight.

I have fishing line across the bottom as well. Just have to spend less time on the ground I guess. :)
