Hi all, I'm new to the hobby and have picked up a slowstick, a futaba 4vf, and the usb cable to hook up the tx to the pc. I've played with FMS a little but have noticed when I'm done and shut down FMS and then power down the TX I need to reboot before using it again. I think it's voltage drop related from the TX. Is there a way to modify the TX to accept power from a wall wart and be able to use FMS?

Thanks!
MadMike

You don't say how long you can use the TX like this but it sounds like it happens every time. I'd expect it either not to work or to stop working after a period of time not to fail to work after you turn it back on. If it really is a voltage problem though then that doesn't bode well for the battery and I wouldn't fly with it until it is checked out.

I'd be more inclined to look for a problem with the USB cable etc. It sounds like it gets upset when you turn off the TX and doesn't communicate properly with the PC afterwards. Rebooting the PC would most likely de-power it and reset it. You could try just pulling the USB plug and then putting it back in which would have a similar effect as the reboot. If that works OK then I'd say you have a problem with the USB converter.

Most TX's won't draw power from a wall plug through it's charging socket when it is switched on (or they auto switch off when you insert the charge plug). This is usually done for various reasons. Some TX's will accept power down the buddy lead (which you are using for simulation) but I don't know about the 4vf.
