On August 19 and 20, SCSR will host the Second Annual GM2DUSR at Grass Mountain in the Angeles Nat. Forest, south of Palmdale and north of Santa Clarita, Ca. Grass has a big deep-grass landing area and the longest course (237 yards) in the Free World. It will be the biggest and best slope race in So.Cal..
Entry fee is $35, and checks payable to SCSR should be sent to William DelHagen, 8338 Kenyon Ave., Los Angeles, 90045. Entries are limited to the first 27 pilots, though additional pilots will be placed onto a stand-by list, and moved up should entrants drop out.
Entries will be made on a first come basis via email to BOTH delhagen13@Hotmail.com and to Danfield@Verizon.net.. Entries MUST include: Name, AMA number, T shirt size, primary freq, backup freq, and 1 or 2 primary planes. Planes must conform to AMA and FAI limits of 11 lb. max and 24.4 oz/ft2 surface loading, and only glass/carbon planes of 74 in wingspan or greater are allowed.
We will have a raffle with excellent prizes from a number of sponsors. More details later as we have more info.

This is a 2-day event with scores from the heat races added up from both days, and flyoffs as needed to determine the top spots. Cash prizes for the top 3 finishers.

Access to Grass Mtn. is via a well-maintained road OK for any normal vehicle. We have applied for overnight camping at the site, and reasonable motels are available 15 miles away on Hwy 14 at Palmdale.

HELPERS NEEDED: We rely on volunteers to help with the turn lights, the start area, and (if we are lucky) with the computer system to determine the heat race matrix output. Helpers will be rewarded with the best seats in the house for wing-to-wing high speed racing . Also helpers are automatically entered for free into the raffle. Even if you do not want to enter a plane, please make the comittment to help by emailing to the addresses shown above.

There is nothing more exciting than the sight of 3 fully-ballasted slope rockets dropping from spec-out height to the start line, so sign up now and be part of the best event on the SCSR calendar.
