Racing over Rantoul

USRA Giant Scale Racing this week, should be a good one. The JR/Zenoah Race over Rantoul is the season opener, this year there are even more pilots and the racing should be awesome. A much bigger field of Unlimiteds, plus Formula 1, F1-GT, T-6, Biplane and Dominator classes.

I'll try and post some pictures and news each day. Tech and practice Thursday, racing Friday through Sunday.

Was so busy flying and helping over the weekend that I didn't have a chance to take pictures, there are sure to be some posted in various places over the next week or two.

We ended up running five preliminary heats, two Friday and three Saturday, leaving just the trophy races on Sunday. I think there were 53 total entries over four classes; Dominator, F1GT, F1 and Unlimited.

Winners in each class:

Dominator- Dean Cranston
F1GT- Robert Vess, Kelly F1D
F1- Ken McSpadden, GR-7
Unlimited- Fred French, NA-50

Geez that one lapping the planes must be fast freddy's modified AT-6 Texan. That thing had dayglo pink and green on it but HAULED BUTT!!!!

so is that 240+mph an official world record???
