I just picked up a Slegers Spectrum kit from a neighbor- still in the box and not built. Does anyone have one of these planes? I looking for some feedback on construction, flight characteristics, etc. This is my first full house sailplane, and I'm looking forward to getting it built correctly. The kit did not have any drawings in the box, does anyone have drawings for the plane I could get a copy of?

Slegers had 2 kits---2M and 108" wing. Both had 7037 foils and were T-tails--
Which one did you get??

I have the bigger one, but the instructions indicate it to be 104". They also show 2 airfoils being available, either S3021 or RG15. The guy I got it from was almost certain it was the 3021 airfoil.
Have you built one? I started the building process a few days ago by gluing the leading edge material onto my wing cores and preping teh fuse for paint. That's all I have done so far.

I had both a few years ago----the larger one is a sweet flying plane. I'd really love to have another one. My battery gave out and I rekitted it. The fin is has a tendancy to crack due to the T-tail twisting when landing so a little reinforcing on the inside without adding a lot of weight would help.
Also, you might find that a small pc of balsa (1/32") under the stab at the trailing edge between it and the fin should help smooth it out a little.
Great plane---take your time and you will have a lot of fun with it when its done
Let me know how it turns out---if I can help just yell.

Jeff:
Thanks for the tips. I'll let you know how it comes along. By chance do you still have the instructions/drawings? The kit I got was without the drawings referenced in the instructions the guy gave me, a copy would sure be helpful if you don't mind sending a copy.
