Hello all,

I'm looking at what it would take to put together a UAV for some on-board video work. I can build the plane form I'll need (we manufacture R/C flying wings), but even thought I've looked as UAV stuff off and on for a few years, I'm currently not up on whats out there now.

I'd like to have the ability to set the whole flight into UAV mode and at certain way points do certain maneuvers including altitude adjustments, specific angle approaches x & y, speed, and some means to control camera record and zoom control. With this control available, I could then pinpoint a flightpath to exact points of interest and do some pretty nice, unattended, videography. I would also like gimble control on the camera via UAV control, but this may be too much and too costly.

Is this way out there, or is it common place, or somewhere in-between?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Paparazzi Open source UAV autopilot would fulfill your requirements, including the gimble camera control. It wouldnt cost you much, but it would require alot of your time to get setup and learn how to use it.

Thanks for the info. I looked at Paparazzi some time back I believe as the name sounds familiar, but I'll look again anyway to see what may have changed. The plane form will be our own, so I think I'll be OK there.

Any others to look at?
