Montague CROSS COUNTY CHALLENGE is June 9,10,11 2006

Just a post to let everyone know that the Montague Cross Country Challenge is this weekend june 9, 10, 11 2006, in Montague, CA. Montague is 10 minutes east of Yreka, CA. The contest is on Sat and Sunday with a warmup on Friday.

15 foot span sailplanes flying at 4,000 feet agl at 80 mph across the California High desert while we chase them in the back of pickup trucks is too much fun!

As always, this 9th annual event was superbly orchestrated. Many many thanks go to Dean Gradwell and his army of volunteers! We had great weather, an interesting course, and challenging tasks. What a way to fly thermal tasks!

Dean, that was an awsome event as usual.
It was a lot of fun trying to catch up and get video of the gliders in flight.
There were at least 6 people that stopped and wondered what was going on.
You can hear one of the guys in the video during the first glider flyby.
