Hey guys, found these babies at Target bundled with a free "E Charger" for $29.99. Unfortunately the E-Charger is junk, but OMG I can't believe how AWESOME the A.A.'s are...I'm going back in the AM to get the ol lady one on a diff. chan. :D Anyway, I've been reading a lot about these on the forums since it got too dark out to play, and I have a few questions. People say to remove the lower wings all together, but I don't want to lose that easy to fly feeling you get out of the box, I just want it to handle / steer a little better and maybe go a little faster. (I'm not an RC guy...cept for my old Traxxas Nitro Truck.) I have removed the wing struts thinking they are worthless and add weight / drag. I've considered leaving it as is or trimming the lower wings just a little, but was wondering if anyone had played around with the lower wings to know what would work out best. (Want a little improvement, but not change it's whole characteristics.) I tried splitting it in half, but the foam started to tear near the nose so I glued it back together and aborted. ;) TIA!!!

I had awesomeness with both the stock bi-plane and with all lower removed. Both on channel B.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1M87Pdqm5U

The stock retains the nice and slow turning capability and hovers in wind very well. The one with lower wings removed don't hover quite well but it's acrobatic and do rolls and dive in high winds. What you should do is go out and get 2 more, or 3 more so you have 1 for every situation.

People have tried to trim the lower to the stuts and reported "better" handling. But everyone handles differently so. Get 5!!

Here's a tip, so far I've tried biplane, wing removed, eagle wing, and sports flyer. The biplane and the one with lower removed are the only ones that fly well in big winds. The funnest is the biplane stock, the most acrobatic is the one with lower removed, the glider's the sports flyer, and the eagle wing I just put LED's in it for fun. :P..handle / steer a little better and maybe go a little fasterDefinitely remove lower wing for this. But at the same time you lose stability.

Thanks guys, I'll definately be getting more this PM, we hit a diff. Target this AM and they only had 1 left. ;) I see someone hit the poll with just removing the wing struts...how does this effect things vs. stock?

I'll have to check that vid after work, it's blocked right now.

That's a good idea man, but what are people doing with them?

I removed the bottom wings, and trimmed the 'cheeks' off of mine.... Flied better than ever! You will need to move the battery forward, though.

How about a vote for remove bottom wings and tape them to upper wing.

I thought about doing more poll options, but I really don't want to get too mod happy with these...YET. I think I'll just try it w/o the wing struts and if I don't like it, I'll stick em back on. When the ol lady and I get bored with dog fighting and I've beaten it up a little, then I'll remove the lower wings and buy a new one. I assume the removal of the struts just lets it cut a little better and reduces weight, but retains very similar flight characteristics.

Any way to use the E-Charger recharger for the AA? :D
