I just picked up this plane from a buddy to help my return to TD after a 20 year absence. It's in good shape - needs a little attention to the covering in a few places and a repair to the tail. The fuse is built-up but is seems to be "gel-coated" or something on the outside. It's definitely not duralene or glass, but a strange type of wood/composite hybrid.

Anyway, I'm looking for a nice slow light air floater, and I think this is it. What's the word on this plane?

In its day (circa 1975) it was the plane to beat. Skip Miller (same Skip Miller on the 2006 F3J US National team) won the Nats in 75 or 76 with the "Miller Mod" adding a phillips entry to the lower LE. His plane hangs in the AMA museum in Muncie, IN.

While no longer competitive against more modern airfoils, it's a great floater.

Is there any source for fiberglass fuses other than the folks that took over from Dream Catcher and still aren't selling anything? Ie - www.aerosphereonline.com

I think it's a delightful soarer, my built-from-plan version celebrating its 25th birthday this year :). A tad more on how it's doing is covered here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5554744&postcount=18)
