My Namba membership is due for renewal, however I just recently got into Park Fliers. I am considering joining the AMA only. I am a recreational R/C er only, no racing. Just want to be covered in case of an incident or accident.
Thoughts?

What kinds of boats do you run? A high end hydroplane can do more damage than a Park Flier.

62" Cat with a Zenoah PUM 260. Pretty fast. AMA coverage states that they cover boats, cars & rockets as well as planes.

Unless NAMPA covers your Park Fliers, I'd say AMA is the way to go.

NAMBA is required, only for participating in NAMBA sanctioned boat races. It doesn't do diddly for recreational r/c boating.

Tom,
It still provides you with insurance when operating them, though. Just like you don't have to be at an AMA-club field or participating in an AMA-sanctioned event to be covered by the AMA.
While they overlap, I think you are far better carrying both.
Also, AMA is primary while NAMBA is secondary. That means AMA picks up before your homeowners, while NAMBA waits until your homeowners is exhausted. I wonder if you have both what happens - does NAMBA pick up when AMA leaves off???

Priority would be:
AMA > Homeowners > NAMBA
Thank heavens it's not NAMBLA! :D LOL!
