I just bought a good used glider (floater). Took it out for the first time on Saturday 5/27/06 to Temple Hill in Diamond Bar. I got it up high and was trainning my 12 year old nephew on flying. He got it too far back behind the hill. I took back the controls but could not get it back out front. It is in the weeds. I gave up looking for it after about 45 minutes of searching. I ran into one rattle snake and one black snake with two yellow strips down its entire body! If you fly there and find it please pm me thank you. It is large white with yellow and red wing tips. It has an AM receiver in it. I made a paper canopy for that day because I forgot to bring the canopy with me.

Dear oscarmeyer; Did you ever find your glider? I hope so. What type of snake was the black with two yellow strips? Well good luck finding the glider. David Morlang

it was most likely a garter snake. not 100% sure, but i think gopher snakes have markings like that when they're young.

Maybe you can get one of the arial photo guys to mount his camera looking down and fly the area.
One day a couple yrs ago a guy lost his glider at Crestline, got too low in a lull and spun it in a few hundred feet below launch, I went home and got my hang glider and flew around and found it and dropped a toilet paper streamer near it. It was a nasty hike but he found it,gave me $20.
