I certainly need help with this (momentus  ) decision. Here are some points to consider:

1. I will be flying mostly gliders, DLG's, electric gliders, and a 3D electric plane.

2. I "finger" fly, pinching the sticks (not just thumbs).

3. I quite like the option of throttle on a slider. I know the JR and 9CAPS both have sliders, does the Evo 9? Are the sliders a must have?

Looking forward to the replies.

I like my EVO 9, yes it has sliders. Once you learn how to program it it is super easy to program. The one thing I don't like about it is that the switches/buttons don't feel as crisp as the asian radios.

But my guess is that any of these radios would be sufficient. Although after having a futaba I wouldn't really want another one. Difficult to program and NOT logical at all...

I had an Evo9 and could never quite get the hang of programing it. I had the only Evo in the area, so no help. I sold it after 10months of trying to get it to work to my satisfaction.

I bought a 9303 and programming it is a "piece of cake". I liked the sliders on the Evo better and the trim buttons, and bigger battery.

I've never used the JR radio so I can't comment there, but having owned both the Evo and 9CAP, I deffinately consider the Evo is a better glider radio. The big progamming issue for me with the Evo was the Manual. It drove me nuts until I just plyed with the radio for an afternoon and 'got' it. I find it pretty easy now. The Evo is much lighter than the 9CAP too.

The sailplane programming of the 9303 is a major upgrade. It was totally reinvented from the older JR and Futaba type programing.

If you have not used European style radio, like MPX , Graunpner. then I would suggest the JR 9303, becasue you don't need to re-start your programming method,
Why I say so, it is becasue, I bought a 9c when I picked up this hobby again 5 years ago, then I bought an always desired European radio, the MPX4000, I spend A LOT OF time and efforts to adapt the 'DIY Programming methods' (or so called 'logical') it is INDEED very good way to do programming. But those MPX parts are relatively bigger and only available via mail orders, (that is my geographical problem maybe). And few months ago I heard and saw many good things , improvements so on has made into JR9309, including FLIGHT PHASE FX.. so I bought one , and found it is one of the best radio set I have used, and their accy eg rx, is easily reachable, and most important is I just reckon that the RX. RF IMMUNITY is best amongst 9c, mpx4000, and itself.

But the only problem is I found it is VERY VERY HARD to learn the way of its programming method!

Functionally, I don't think I could use 20% of the features in MPX or JR in another 3 years.

Hope my info help your decision

David.

ouch, one more thing, I forgot the price. I bought a JR FULL SET with tx/rx sythn modules at 50% of a FULL SET EVO 9 . That was 3 mths ago, now the ex-rate of EURO had soaring up about 5-6% ever since.
