Shelton Scale Ship Modelers Club, in Shelton Washington held there first regatta ever.
Most members had never been to a regatta, some of the newer members did not have a boat ready for this, so we made a loan of a boat so they could compete with all others and get some expereance running a boat.
We all had a blast.
Here is another pic or two.

Thank you all.
After all the bad photos I have posted to you all, I bought a new camra, most of the pics were taken with a 30x300 lins. I love this camra. but to take the 250 + pics at the regatta I used 4 sets of batteries, 4 to a set, but from the way it takes pictures it's worth it.
don't know if I'll win next year or not, the new guys were real imprest with the detail in all our models, and said they were going to win next time so I guess I should get my next boat started, yes it will be a tug, maybe!!

After all the bad photos I have posted to you all, I bought a new camra
The images are great. It looks like your Envoy really kicks up the water.
The course looks like it was fun also. Hope to catch you at Bellevue, WA next month.
(Arizona gets too hot to be in the sun.... we start putting on t-shirts and shorts at 70 degrees, they are putting on winter clothes.) ;)

I am going to try and be at belview, my job schedule has changed, I work Thursday through Sunday, :censored: so I've got to find some sick days or something. :D
And I'll try and remember to bring my camra :p
The Enovy does kick up the water a bit, there is so much power that I need to bolt my ballars down CA glue will not hold, I pulled off two sets of ballards at a hard pull, not a jurk, but a pull, the derelict wieghs in when ballast out at about 160 lbs, and a steday pull will move it but it takes some effort.
when I go in rev. the prop wash is so heavy that I can use it for a stern truster to starbard , and turn the boat around.
I may install a kort nozzle to stop this :o

.
Congradulations on your first regatta. 200 pictures in 4-1/2 hours, did you have any time to run any boats. The St. Louis Admirals do it in two days and there are times that doesn't seem long enough to run your boats and shoot the breeze with other modelers.

Switch to HYB, and you can see the satellite image and map overlay. IF the image was taken on a regatta day, you could have seen the boats. :D
I think I hit Hansen Dam, Cleveland and Michigan pretty well also. :p

I'm confused, I looked at google earth to see the park, and I see houses in your photos, but not around the lake at the park... right park, wrong lake/pond?

Ropanach, Being from Shelton, I'm sure that you know that Shelton is "north" of Olympia. Myself living in Olympia, I go that direction to our place in Allyn. I just didn't want prople spending to much time looking for Shelton south of Olympia. By the way, where do you actually live? From the map it looks like between Shelton and Allyn, we need to get together and talk boats. Jerry J

Aerominded:
Got the info. on the white tug for you.
It's called the Mikey-Mikey, the hull was made by Ray nelson, whom has passed away, but the molds are still around,
Richard MacFarlane of the Shelton R/C boat club has the molds, and is trying to get his shop set up to start too produce the hull once again,
The more pepole that want the hull, the faster he will get set up for it, I my self would like to have one.

I was born in Shelton and most of my relatives still live there. I spent 2002-2003 in Shelton on a full size submarine build but never knew there was an active boat club. I joined the Sanderson Field RC Fliers club while there. The airplane club had a bunch of guys who flew float planes out at Lake Newatzell. Great pictures and a perfect place to run model ships.

I remember when they were building the subs out at the port, didn't know much about them, they had gotten a contract from some one and then moved out, acording to the local news.
