zoom on FMS

Is there an issue with the Zoom on Fms 8.5? I cannot adjust it properly as the options don't seem to work.
What is the proper way to set the zoom, It allway seems to be on. Even if I cancel auto zoom the plane on the runway is right in your face.

I had my zoom get stuck "in my face" once with FMS. It turned out a combination of a specific landscape and airplane combination got it stuck in place.

One way to clear the problem is to uninstall and reinstall FMS. This will fix the stuck Windows registry entry.

The other way is to use REGEDIT at your own risk and modify the offending registry entries. You'll find FMS under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Flying-Model-Simulator, MainForm and the Autozoom entries. If you'd like to know what the default entries are for FMS. Use REGEDIT and copy the MainForm numbers before you start running FMS.

Of course, you do know that you can use the numeric keypad to control the zoom feature too. The down-arrow or numeric [2] key is used to back away from the model.

I run my version of FMS with AutoZoom off as it more closely approximates my actual flying experience.

Thanks GGUNNERS, the uninstall/reinstall worked fine.
As a PC illiterate I wasn't about to get into the REGEDIT, whatever that is.
