Where would I go or does anybody know where I could find info on the wing incidence for my GWS tiger moth? I put one together and it does not fly properly.. after some investigation I find alot of positive wing incidence. I made some adjustments and it flies a bit better. however I would like to find out the proper setup to be sure.

Thanks,
Steve

This is the setup on my #1 TM.. it may not be per print after some flight "experiences" but this does work...
Gum-band or tape some longish sticks to the bottom of the wings about 1/2 way out each semi-span.. block up the fuselage with a bubble level on the horizontal, and zero the bubble.
Then either measure the angles on the sticks up from some fixed surface, or get back far enough to minimize perspective as in this image, and photograph the plane and use your paint program (PaintShopPro v.7) to measure angles on the print.
As three of the wings are at +3->+4, that's probably a good number to look for...

Thanks for the great graphic Sparky.
One more question.. Is there a reason for the 4 deg one side & 7 on the other for the top wing?

My problem might be the thrust angle. half throttle it seemed ok but full throttle pitches up.

.
Is there a defensible reason for the difference..
Nope!
It just comes out that way after some flight adventures. Deformation in the foam and the heat sensitivity of the GWS glue leads to things moving around.. :)
4 is probably what it started out with.
One day the glue at the upper right strut failed and the thing flew around with that 1/2 of the wing sticking up about 45 degrees.. The repair wasn't all that good..

Thanks Sparky,

I saw a balsa TM at the field this am around 36-42" ws that had close to 0 degree incidence. the reason I am trying to find out and suspect this is my TM pitches up with throttle and will stall if I dont watch it. it does have some downthrust setup in the motor but I see what looks like too much pos. wing incidence. It got it way better with some adjustments but still have positive incidence, it still doesn't fly quite right. My thinking is it has so much wing area it should have no problem getting lift so set it at 0.
I am going to add the CF rods to use rubber bands to mount the top wing when I do this I am going to try to set it to 0 degrees.
