This is the drawing for 'funk-master' who asked about a model 'r' class destroyer.
Drawing was in an old (1962?) Model Maker magazine series.

OK, FM .
There's one advantage boats have against aircraft - they go left, right, and down(the latter only if you're unlucky).
Submarines are more complicated, by far, but they can come up again - usually.
Boats and cars can get you used to the installation and use of radio control systems, and also the feel of how much or how little you need to use the sticks. An aircraft needs very careful and delicate use of the sticks, but previous experience will help with directions to be given instinctively - it's not easy at first to remember which way to move the sticks when a model is coming towards you, for example. Practice makes perfect in any modelling you do.
