FWIW, I've posted some advice and opinions about designing PCBs

Nice job Bill - I've made a few PCBs with Eagle but never worked out how to use the autorouter without it putting tracks on the top layer - that tip will be a great help!

It's also good to see that tutorial on toner transfer, but I wish someone would come up with a idiot-proof way of doing the ironing bit :)

To prevent the autorouter from putting tracks on the top layer, you can
set the top layer "preferred direction" to "N/A"; but to get it to work you
have to be pretty lucky; MOST of my single-sided boards end up getting a
lot of hand-routing...
