There are a few of us down here in Pensacola that are practicing the F3Ai sequences. There isnt really a F3Ai contest down here, we are just practicing it for fun....with the hopes that eventually we could have a contest.

We are running into a few problems. One is a huge lack of F3Ai capable airplanes. Many of the off the shelf varieties are incapable of flying the F3Ai sequences in our small gym. One of the local guys is practicing with a Troll that he built from online plans. But I havent found anything yet. I can fly the sequence with my 6oz tensor, but its far from a precision plane. Does anyone have decent plans for a good biplane under 6oz? Im at the point now where Im about ready to start scratch-designing/building something. I was considering the Sypher, but I think its too big for our gym. Due to the size of our gym, its GOT to fly slow...real slow, and be able to slow down on the downlines. 15-20ft ceilings make the triangle loop a bixatch, along with that 1/4 roll on the downline of the tophat.

The other problem is correctly identifying the maneuvers. For instance, the 1/4 roll, 180 turn, 1/4 roll. Is it supposed to be a push 180 or a pull 180? The 180 inverted turn, is it supposed to be a flat turn, or a regular turn? Can it be right or left? Can the one roll rolling circle from inverted be from backside of gym to front to back or does it have to be from front to back to front? Does inside or outside rolling matter? Ive seen videos from europe that show the sequence being flown both ways, and sometime a combination. Is it pilots discretion as to how or what direction?

HELP...PLEASE.....thanks

Hi Bryan,

Free plan: http://slowflyworld.de/austausch/slowflyworld-smove-plan.pdf

15 to 20 ft ceilings are too low. German gyms are approx. 6.8m = approx. 23ft

You can do the 180° KE either by pulling or pushing.

The 180° turn is horizontal and can be flown either left or right.

Same for the 360° circle with integrated roll: back to front or front to back, inside or outside - you choose. ;)

:) Jürgen

WHOOOOHOOOO....

Thank you very much. I've been practicing the sequence, Id hate to spend all this time practicing it to be doing it wrong the whole time....or not taking advantage of things that may be better for me.

Ill check out that Smove. Looks cool.

Thanks

I'm the 'local guy' that built the Troll. It was a fun build and a good learning experience. I am still getting it trimmed out but it looks very promising. It came in at 170g without battery.

As soon as I get the model all trimmed out and flying well I will post some info on its construction. Hopefully this will give other people some ideas and increase the number of plans available.

racerxky,

I think im gonna build that SMOVE he posted, but im gonna modify it for a built up fuselage like you have on yours.
