Hi, I just joined RCGroups today. I bought my first RC plane recently (B29 Bomber), and it has a long battery pack in it, made up of 2 AAA's side by side, and 3AAA's top to tail making a pack of 6AAA's giving 7.2Volts and 600mAh Rechargable. Can I put a battery pack in my plane that will give me more than 5-6 mins of flight time before having to recharge. This so sad. will more mAh do damage to my plane engines is the real question ? And do you know where I can buy A battery pack that will give me maybe 30 mins or more, for less than 20 quid if that's possible. And has anyone on here flown a B29 like mine with 4 electric engines? any tips? or warnings? it steers by speeding up the props on one wing more than the other. pretty basic. haven't flown it yet, cos flying it for only 5 minutes at a time is a frustrating thought. Thanks and Hi in advance. Bretskee. London E17

hi there m8, i started out with 1 of these B-29 bombers and i found it a complete waste of money. like you say, the only control you have it through the engines. to fly these planes you need a no wind day (which is rare in uk) i to this day still have the battery pack that your on about but i've taken them apart and rearranged then into another shape of pack to go into a gws beaver i have. As to you original question about the batteries i don't think you could ever get around 30 mins flight time because the engines are running at full thottle plus also the reciever as an all in 1 unit that i'e Rx and esc in 1, maybe voltage sensitive. As reguards my B-29, after the 3rd attempt to fly it slammed to the ground and broke in lots of bits so it went in the bin. If you want my advice and im sure others would agree, go for a cheap setup like a cclee rambler or similar. these come ready artf formies with servos and 27mhz tx/rx, which at a later date could be removed for another models. they are rudder and elevator controllable. this is what i started with and now the servos from the cclee rambler are now sitting in a gws beaver that im now flying with. this is a great cheap model with room for mods and improvements and trust me these beavers can be so life like and realistic. just do a search for beaver on here and check the pics. so lets summerize it up, ditch the B-29 and get a more controllable model with options for upgrades, i.e batteries, motors etc. Well i hope it kinda helps ya. have fun

LOL, I have been flying models for over 15 years and I bought one of the bombers for a bit of a laugh, first flight it crashed straight into my house and landed in about two hundred bits!! I always advise any new person the this hobby to buy a hobby zone super cub, they are perfect for someone with no experience, very stable and easily controlled! Check out the other parts of the site to find out more about them!
