DC to DC converter

I am looking for a low cost simple DC to Dc converter to boost 12 volts DC to 15 volts DC at about 3 amps maximum.

Anyone done this recently?

I would suggest the following:

- go to digikey web site;
- press "go" in "parts search";
- find "DC/DC Converters & Controllers"
- use their parametric search to narrow the list down to several items; select appropriate input, output voltage range and maximum current.
- open datasheets and check typical application. look for the simplest circuits with small number of external parts.

That is how I have found TPS61040 when I needed to power PIC from single LiPo cell.
