Could anyone send me a link for a 10T pinion gear that fits this motor. I am buying the MPI and drilling them out to work which as we all know is not the best idea. Plus I am throwing away the shaft gear.

Also if anyone has suggestions for gear boxes that are stick mount for this setup I would love to hear about them.

Gaelin,

I also had quite a bit of trouble finding any info on this motor. After writing Horizon Hobby I was told to use these parts:

I am using a Hacker E3-49
E-Flite 6.6:1 EFLM221 gearbox
E-Flite EFLM207 10T metal pinion gear

Everything works well except getting the pinion gear on is a painful process. I wouldn't mind tracking down a gear that works with this but has the the little lock nut you tighten with an Allen key.

Thanks a ton. The MPI (with set screw) works great if you dont mind throwing out the spur gear. I donate mine to a local friend who uses the MPI gear box. How did you get the pinion gear on? Shear might? Or have you seen a pinion presser that would work. I dont think my 6 ton press would be a good thing to use on such a small shaft.

I tap mine on with a hammer...I have been warned that this is about the most dangerous way to do but I have no vice or other option. It has worked twice now but one slip and the shaft is guaranteed to be bent. Most people say putting it in a vice and slowly tightening it is the best but I don't have access to a vice.

I would say that any vice is probably better than the hammer method!

Good luck.
