I built a FMS MDL file of my OPTICA model.
The flight parameters are like my real model.
Except my real model does not sink into the ground when it sets still.

Any suggestions?

I was told off line that the sinking into the ground is a by product of using old MDL files with the newest Alpha FMS.

Does not play well with the Direct X engine

With FMS PARs from 2.85 models, you have several of what are called collision points and two or more landing gear points, These are all picked out using metric distances and XYZ co-ordinates for each point and LG placement.

There are also some springing, damping and breaking co-factors represented in newton-meters for each individual point. In addition to all this complexity, there is a not so subtle interaction between the ground surface, objects, the co-factors, and the sampling rate of the flight engine, You can change this in the upper function bar> Smulation>Simulation Options> Sample Rate. Get any of these out of balance and your model will dance and (or) crash or bluescreen the computer.

It's ever so much fun....

just a little heads up.
