Okay, at witt's end here. Have tried everything on the TTI website as far as making sure the TX is in ppm mode, no servo mixing and reversing .... but still FMS will not do anything when trying to caliberate the TX. I can select COM3 in the resource window for serial-PIC interface like the instruction said ... but when I go to the caliberate window and click on caliberate, nothing happens when I move my sticks.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I don't know anything about the Optic 6 or the interface. But one thing to try is turning off the TX. Some turn on automatically (with RF disabled) when you plug in the buddy leady but will disconnect the signal if you turn on the TX.

I believe there are a number of test tools around that can check to see if there is something coming from the PIC interface in the lead. Have a search of the forums for PIC interface should show up a few.

You could also use the terminal program built into Microsoft OS though I think the PIC requires a certain set of control signals to be set to make it transmit again a search should show up the requirements.

I bought the Hitec USB adapter off EBAY. It works and calibrates fine. I did remove the transmitter module.

logan,

There can be several reasons why the interface is not working.

1) -Under XP there is no direct access to the comports, so some interface cables require 3rd party software such as PPJoy to "translate" between the software and XP

2) - The PIC-Serial interface will communicate with the PC in a particular way and as a set speed. The software needs to be set to match this speed (baud rate). Try changing the settings in FMS to see if you get any movement.

3) - Is the interface dedtected under Game Controllers in Control Panel - If so can you calibrate or do you get any movement of the axis when selecting properties ?

4) - The interface is not receiving a true PPM signal - download any of the sound card based windows software oscciloscopes and check the port. You should get something like the example below (JR x3810)

5) - If you still have no luck then the interface may be faulty - I would suggest returning it for refund and then purchase a USB "windows joystick" type interface which will allow you to use loads more applications, and should remove any communications problems

Hope these suggestions help
