..yeah its the radio my wife always leaves on in the bathroom..Stuffing a Nicad pack in was a great start..raher than the impossobly expensive dry cells, bit I'd love to LIPO it..if I could think of a way that it would switch itself off if the battery voltage dropped.

Also nie to trickle charge it on a 'wart' type charger.

So how could one arange a REALLY low off current switch...FET? something like that..obviously charging is a simple current/voltage limiter..

Hi Vintage,

What voltage for the radio. Not too heavily into electronics but I wonder if a simple 3pin voltage regulator eg 7805 etc would do the trick. I know that these require 2 volts or so to work but I don't know if once the input voltage is below the threshold whether it still takes current from the battery ?
