If i decide to use an epoxy finish instead of dope, what product would you suggest using, sig, pacer finishing resin or another one...it will be painted over the fiberglass, so looks, as long as its smooth are not important. What can i use to thin the resin to make it easier to brush on?

Are you asking about a epoxy to cover the wood with, or are you refering to an epoxy paint. If you are refering about thinning epoxy for the first coat such as West System the best thing to use is Epoxy and Lacquer Thinner by Parks. This is one the professional boat restoration people use. If you refering about thinning paibt refer to the instructions on back of the paint that you bought. I have found that in bottom paint for a full size boat, if you use the wrong thing, it will peel and blister, and have to be completely sanded off. Next year same paint, right thinner recommended and the paint is still O.K. If you need more info come back to me at R.R.Farina@att.net
