what sort of peak voltage (keeping it simple), per cell should I expect from a fully charged 'sayo' 2400 (sub-c) ni-cad? was toying with hooking one(or more) l.e.d.s up to the boat pack(like across the motor leads) and didn't want to fry them. thanks

Rex, my Tx NiMH peaks at 1.45 V/cell.
The Rx Ni-Cd peaks at 1.48 V/cell.

ahh so for 6 cells I'm looking at 8.88v(I'll figure it as 8.9v) thanks much. dunno if I'll actually do anything with the info...yet(got get the boats done 1st :)). I do have an 'ultra brite' (white) led that I bought for a project that didn't pan out, thought it might be fun to hitch it up to the motor to see what the esc is doing.

Rex:
I just finished work on my Enovy tug. I have 51 L.E.D.s on baord, with running lights and all.
You need to know what voltage the L.E.D.s are, you can get them from 1.5v all the way up to 28v. you allso need to know what degree of light you need you can get them from 15 d. to 60 d.
I used the 15 d. because most of them are setting inside the port holes, looking stright out. they are rated at 3v. and I run them all though a transformer I got from www.mackproductsrc.com 12v. in 3v. out.
And all so on my Jim Wilder tug I used the same L.E.Ds, but I ran the stright from a twin battery pack of AA batterys I get about 15 hours run time on them before I need to change out the batteries, as long as I remeber to turn them of that is.
hope this helps

well, what ever way I go, I'll undoubtedly have more room to work with than the aborted project. was trying to squeeze 3 batts, 2 resistors etc. into a space .5" in dia by .75" and keep the weight down to .8 oz.(that was the killer, plexiglass is heavy). thanks for all the info.
