Has anyone here heard what happened to the British magazine "Model Boats"? I used to access their website and forums but it appears to be gone. I also sent an e-mail to their editor and it was returned "address unknown".

I had heard that they had been rolled into a new publishing group that catered to small circulation "specialty" publications, but it would appear that model boating is too "specialty".

It would be a darned shame if that magazine were no longer in circulation as it was the best one I could get here at my bookstore.

bluesy,
They are having problems with their ISP who is shutting down. They should be up and going again shortly, gotta recover files, redo stuff, and I have no idea what else, so they say. I agree, one of the better forums even if they do talk funny.

Dunno. The publisher, Nexus Special Interests, is part of Highbury House Communications, which in in receivership and has been delisted from the London FTSE index.

I'm sure it's just a website issue (like they can't pay the bill!)

thanks everyone for responding. I certainly hope this can be resolved to the good in order that their website can get back in operation.

Talked to a Traplet rep today at the Weak Signals show, said that yep, another outfit has picked up Model Boats. Don't know anything about a recovery schedule.

Hi
I got the March issue of Model Boats last week at my local store,so hopefully it's staying in print. (always a bit slow getting here!)
According to the Model Boat Mayhem site the forum should be back up in May sometime.
