anybody with any expierence with mini-sticks? I would like to try one. The smallest I've built is about the 10 to 12" range(lil' pieces) at about 3 grams. downloaded some plans from the net but have some questions about wood stripping and props, rubber strippers, and well, just about everything. any rubber enthusiasts out there?

Yup, still build rubber stuff, mostly Peanut Scale, I still find that type of model is the biggest challenge. We used to get the kids to build Peck ROGs as an intro to indoor, very successful kit.
I don't bother stripping my own rubber. Again, I depend on Peck and others to supply quality rubber, and am seldom disappointed in the products. However, I still spend a lot of time with my Master Airscrew balsa stripper to allow better control over the weight/strength of the airframe.
For awhile, our group was building what we called 1/16 Scale: using Guillow plans (mostly) we built the models out of 1/16 balsa, single-surfaced wings/tail, then play with rubber/prop until you could get a minute or more in a standard gym. Lots of fun!
Let me know if I can help, e-mail kpa@img.net
