I have a yacht hull that my grandfather left me, as I am the only other modeller in the family.
It is about 30 years old, never fitted out, in great condition.
See pics.
Asking $50 for it. Australians only.

The Hull is constructed from loose weave, white pigmented gell coated fibreglass, (GRP).
Doesn't look like mat, more like loose fibres.
Do want to know the weight of this hull?

The hull is 1.1kgs and has nice clean lines.
You won't find another like it as it was a one off.

Regards Brettos. ( Dead set true blue 5th gen aussie, no blow in).
Unless you're aboriginal, we are all blow-ins. 5 generations is nothing compared to how long the indigenous have been here.

5th gen is as far as we can go back as there are so many obstacles involved when trying to find our heritage. Political correctness, OH dear, I won't get into that one as my great, great, great, great, great grandfather is a "Garagie" from broken bay Sydney and my great, great grandfather was a stockman. Who are you!
No malice intended but you have offended me and life is to short to be buggering around with this crap.
You must be realy bored or something.
Lets not go there mate and keep it cool.

Political correctness, OH dear,
Huh? "Political Correctness"? What are you talking about?
No malice intended but you have offended me and life is to short to be buggering around with this crap.
Why did I offend you? I was just giving some perspective. I'm also a multi-generational Australian, but I don't see why I would brag about it. It is interesting that you would be offended by being considered a "blow-in" - but this was your term, not mine. The only logical conclusion I can draw is that you were trying to put down people whose families arrived here recently.
In relative terms to the indigenous, the history of all white Australians would amount to the same relative time as an immigrant who has been here for a little over a year.
You must be realy bored or something.
No, I just get creeped out by this idea of "real Australians." It sounds a lot like xenophobia. It doesn't make one a better person to be born somewhere, or have their relatives born somewhere.
You talk about me being bored to mention this - but why did you mention it, when it is not relevant to the boat or these threads. Are you really so bored as to obsess over your family history to use it as a measure of how "true blue" you are? Isn't "life too short" for that kind of thing, as you say?
Lets not go there mate and keep it cool.
Indeed!

Pretty typical attitude. Yeah, life is too short to deal with the most significant problems afflicting Australian society, or to have any kind of introspection into our actual history - yeah, the really important things are hobbies and sports.
I don't think life is ever too short to address xenophobia, and for people to understand the world around them. yeah, let's just be apathetic, and assume everything is great! Aussie Aussie Aussie!

You know, I first posted my original comment sincerely hoping you were just being nostalgic. I didn't consider my comment offensive, and don't know how it could be taken that way - unless there is something deeper going on. Seeing as a simple statement of fact and history got you so riled up, sadly, it seems that there are ill feelings in your comment towards people who aren't "true blue" enough for you.

So what's this got to do with models?
Is this an R/C forum or what?
Get over it will you! "PLEASE"!
Your personal attacks on me are not appreciated.

So what's this got to do with models?
Exactly. So why did you talk about how many generations your family had been in the country? What does that have to do with models? You started this.
Your personal attacks on me are not appreciated.
It's not personal. It just seemed that you were making an attack on a whole category of people. I just wanted to know what your reason was for posting that comment.
Believe it or not, some things are more important than models.

Please leave me alone.
I did not ask for any feedback from you and now it seems that you are out of control. I meant nothing by my text, just did it.
You are causing me stress and that is not what the forum is for.
I have reported you to a moderator, hopefully this will stop your rambling.
It is getting to the point where I don't even want to check my responces to the thread that I started in the first place.
I want to sell a hull, that's it. I didn't ask for someone to tear strips of me because of a simple statement in a post.

Dangitman, youre in the wrong neighbourhood. This is a forum,i see nothing wrong with Brettos posts. In my opinion youre a troublemaker.
Why am i a troublemaker? i just posted a factual response to brettos' post. If anyone should be reported for provocation, it is he for making a bigoted statement in the first place.
Why is it troublemaking to stand up to intolerance? Shows a lot about the so-called Australian "character" - the same thing is said about anyone who speaks out against the way indigenous people or immoigrants are disregarded, in the mainstream media. The sense of entitlement and superiority from many Australians is quite disturbing.
Brettos talks about being "stressed" by this - but imagine how it feels to be an aborigine or immigrant who is constantly discriminated against. That's a hell of a lot more serious than some offense taken on a message board. Phrases like "blow ins" or "boat people" and even "true blue" are incredibly loaded politically.
Frankly, I think we should be stressed by the direction our society is taking - not trying to ignore it. While this kind of soft bigotry may seem like no big deal to many people - these attitudes are the seed that leads to things like the Cronulla race riots, and nasty attitudes towards migrants.

Dangitman,i have no issue with you other than the fact that i believe youve over reacted to a for sale ad. Brettos was stating that its been in his family for generations.
where you found an issue with that is beyond me. just accept the fact that its been in his family for a long time. lets all get over it and move on.otherwise youre on my ignore list too,but lets hope we can all move on from this and live happily ever after... Cheers.. Rod
