I'm going to be starting a wood boat project in the near future, what advide do you have for fiberglassing the hull. It will be painted after its glassed, what do you suggest for cloth/weights of cloth and resin to use.

Thanks
Derek

There are several notes, esp. by Pat Tritle here on the forum about "how to". Poke around in the sticky under "Scale Boats". Much of that inspired my own fiberglassing experiments, see the March 06 "Ships in Scale (www.seaways.com)" for more on that.
I've used as light as 1/2 ounce cloth, and 2 ounce as well. You don't need much weight since all you're doing is creating a water-tight barrier bonded to the wood, and the finer cloth's weave is easier to fill with resin or primer-surfacer. But 1/2 oz is REALLY flimsy, tricky to work with.
