Hi,

Im trying to record some on board video from a tiny camera on my plane. The problem is recording this on the field. I do not have access to a VideoCamera with AV input's.

However I do have access to a 240V (UK - Its where I live)2200VA UPS. Can anyone do the math and tell me approx how long this will supply a standard VCR and 10" TV?

Best Regard's

What is the capacity of the battery on the UPS?

Can you provide the battery voltage as well?

There is one way to find out... Just take the UPS, plug in the TV, check the time, and start recording. That's a pretty advanced UPS; it should have capacity readouts on the front so you can get an idea of how much time you have left.

I'd imagine the UPS would run the VCR for quite a while; it's meant for some pretty heavy-duty server use. The incessant beeping may get on your nerves while you fly, though.

The VA ratings are usually good for an hour - that means a 2200VA unit will provide about 2000W for an hour. A regular (smaller) TV usually draws ~100W, a VCR about half that. So you can probably run for 10 hours or more on that unit.
It is possible to program the unit so that there is no beeping..
