I am working on a standoff scale Albatros 111. I am planning on using a Eppler 197 foil . Because of the difference in chord of the top and bottom wing the lower wing is significantly thinner. How would thickening the airfoil on the lower wing effect the flight. Can this be predicted?

There's unlikely to be much effect by thickening the section if it's done proportionately.
All a wing section really is is a 'mean camber line' from leading edge to trailing edge. Around this is a fairing. This fairing can be varied in thickness depending on the airflow requirements.
If you increase e197 from its normal thickness of 13.49% (Profili version) to 15% you are not likely to notice any difference in flight characteristics other than a slight increase in drag/lower top speed. As it's already a fairly thick section, it should have good stall characteristics already. Even thicker should help more .

Perhaps some aerodynamicist could expand on this, I tend to work on experience than precise detail on these things.
