I met Merrill, over the weekend, to pick up one of his kits and some free carbon toe.
He is one of the most helpful persons I’ve met in the hobby.

He showed me the surplus of toe he had and how he was wrapping everyone toe by hand, with the aid of a drill and a kit spool-like double crossed spool. He spun his magic like a pro, several seconds and he had a neatly wound order on a folded piece of cardboard.

He was kind enough to tell me a few tips to other type of modeling while this was all going on and still scheduling time for his family events for the rest of the day.

He asked if we received some carbon from him, that we share with our other fellow hobbyist and not get to greedy with our orders from him. As well as having a little patience with our request.

How long has it taken for you guys to receive your supply. I'm rapidly approaching four weeks with nothing. I've e-mailed Mr. B. a couple of times to find out if my $ arrived, and/or had he sent the stuff and it got lost. I would send more cash if I knew. Surprisingly, I've not heard a word from Mr. B. and frankly am rather disgusted. My gut tells me that he's not the kind of person that doen't give a damn, after all, he didn't have to go through the hassle of sharing and shipping the tow, but it's certainly hard not to feel that way.

Thank you for your most generous act of kindness to fellow modelers.

Now for the rest of you that recieved the 12K tow. What are we gonna do with it? Maybe we need to start a new thread dedicated to its use and application? I am going to experiment a bit on some scrap, as this stuff is new to me. Then I plan to use it to strengthen the fuse on my RO8 as the ply fuse is really weak. I also will do the same on my under construction Talon as posts have idicated it to has a weak spot.

Any suggestions to aid in the use of this 12 K TOW will be much appreciated.

I came up with a way to quickly and easily get the tow off the cardboard spool it came on and onto a more useable spool. Most of you have probably already done this but if any one is interested, let me know.
