Hi
i have been dormant for some time on this forum, however have been flying on most sundays, saw this regional section and found India and was very happy thought i would add some stuff....
Here are some of the pictures of our planes from the recent past,
the picture here is a modified rafale built and flown by rajesh, this bird is fast and spins like its on nails. rajesh is after speed and this model is sure an eyecatcher...
powered by the DIY aircraft-world kit, 1500-2s, GWSr6n, cc25
great flyer...

Here is my alleycat, made from fanfold, This one is a brilliant flier and loads of fun, this is the model that i enjoyed the most, I have thrown it around in the sky at high G still the wing holds on without a spar, we build two of these, one for myself and one for rajesh.
My cat is powered by the komodo single stack, cc25, maxamps 900 -3s, berg and GWS servos 8X4 Gws prop
what a plane..... :)

Here is uttam and the creator for the mighty midget motor (his dad) the plane on the ground is the zoom zoom – a great 3D/pattern bird sure on my wish list and will soon build one. The other plane he is holding is the R3D mini, its virtually unbreakable

This is my minature version of the albacorde, this was powered with the double whopper mighty midget motor, however was grounded as the plane was too hot to handle

All these are micro foamies powered by the mighty midget motor, you can see all of them on top of the zoom, there is the albacorde , microsport and the delta (made by uttam). The delta is a spectacular flyer with great aerobatics. Last sunday I flew a bigger version of the delta and flew good in quite strong winds

Wow, Prashanth, that is quite a flock of birds you guys have there, and a great bird farm to fly them off.
What is the mighty midget motor? Haven't heard about that before. Can you post some details?
Thanks,
Doc

Hi doc
Ya there are quite some flyers her in bangalore, mostly flying gas though, some fly both gas and electric, while very few only electric. Had quite some flyers in the field today, and was nice day.
Mighty midget motors are the smallest commercially available brushless motors, they were specificlaly developed for the indoor models in mind and they were designed and deveoped by uttam and his dad, its a beauty of a motor and its now manufactured in bangalore and sold around the world, i have one of those jewel of a motor you can read more about it on this link

Thanks for the info and links, Prashanth. I've forwarded the links to my buddy, Cometravi, to whom I refer all my powertrain queries.
We are a bunch of fliers who were mostly into gas and glow and only started electric flying about a year ago. It's so convenient and "mess-less" that our glow and gas flying has taken a back seat for a while. I must confess I went a little overboard with my electrics, I now own about 16 GWS electrics, a couple of GP Flatouts, and a rip off Multiplex Sonic Liner. I'm more of a scale plane and warbird person, not too much into 3D - yet!!!

Incidentally, we get our kits from Rajiv Jain here in Delhi. He seems to give us pretty good rates. You might want to get in touch with him at: www.radicalworks.com

Hi Vinod,
You can definitely make your own planes, but you still need to buy a kit, which is basically lasercut wood parts along with plans on how to assemble them. In addition you will need some hardware.....servos to activate the flying surfaces, a transmitter or controller, a receiver to receive signals from the transmitter, a motor or engine (depending on whether build a glow engine plane or electric) batteries, chargers, etc.
You can also scratch build your own planes from foam based on plans that are available on the net (www.parkjets.com) but you will still need the hardware.
Hope that helps.

Hi Vinod,
I'm sorry I don't know any vendors in Bangalore. If you want to order from Delhi, you may get in touch with Rajiv Jain via his website www.radicalworks.com. He has most products and prices listed on his website. In Mumbai you may get in touch with Nishant Garodia via his website www.paylessflymore.com. Both gentlemen have their contact information listed on their websites. Both of them may be in a much better position than me to help you with your requirements, prices and advice about proceeding with construction. You would also need an instructor or guide for your first few flights.

Vinod, the package normally contains just the parts for building the airframe. Apart from this you would need servos, receiver, transmitter, batteries, motor etc. Like I said, if you get in touch with the vendors via their websites, they would be able to help you and tell you what you would need.

Hi vinod,
I am Saibal from Calcutta. I have always built my aircrafts from kits but now I design and build from scratch. I suggest that you start building from balsa kits first. It might help to have someone to guide to start with. If you live in Bangalore than there is a whole bunch who can help you. By chance if you visit Calcutta then just give mr a buzz. You can visit my workshop and we can talk.
All the best

I tried making a Crude one with the Batteries of AAA rechargeables i Had it but they have connection problems. I am not very comfortable with them.
Would appreciate if i can get a ready made one. I am from Bangalore
