Hi
Right now CX161 Panasonic 330 lines NTSC board camera. Which I am happy with. Now I see there is 400-480 color board cameras out now. have anyone tried hi-res ones and can you really notice a big difference. At 1/3 inch CCD can you really see a big change.

If you intend to record a 480 line camera on a standard VHS tape or produce typical MPEG/AVI files, then the added camera resolution will go to waste. However, sending the video directly into your capture card or into a S-VHS (or better) recorder will allow for stunning video. Still shots taken from such video will look MUCH better too.
Be careful on how you choose your video camera. There is more to it than lines of resolution. The performance of the DSP based video control is important on a camera mounted to a moving model. Dynamic range matters too.
Sure can't beat the price of the CX-161 (<$100). Its low power requirements is a nice touch too. From what I can tell, it is the best value on the market.
