THE BEST SURFACE RADIO JUST GOT BETTER
It’s been the system of choice for drivers of all skill levels; now get ready as Futaba takes 3PK radio technology several steps further.
In addition to a synthesized module, the 3PK Super Synthesized also comes with a synthesized receiver. That means just one radio for on-road, off-road, electric or nitro models — and without changing crystals. The non-synthesized 3PK Super with R113iP receiver is ideal for off-roading. Then there’s the 3PK Super with R203HF. Like the R303FHS receiver in the synthesized versions, it offers the High Response Speed (HRS) transmission mode that takes full advantage of digital servos for blink-of-an-eye quickness.
The benefits of the 3PK Super’s upgrades include a Vibrating Alert System, which can be used like a timer to let modelers know when to bring their nitro car in for a pit stop, or to check the battery life of their electric model. A redesigned keypad features a large button in the middle which is now a jog button (like you would see on a video game controller), giving modelers access to four different directions by moving the button left, right, up or down, and then pushing it in. In addition to the “New Driver”, “Race-Ready” and “Expert” menus, the 3PK Super also includes a mid-level, “Big” menu that caters to drivers of 1/5 scale and larger vehicles.
The Throttle Mode Select lets modelers choose from two servo neutral points: 70/30, which offers more acceleration and less brake for nitro modelers, or the equal acceleration/brake 50/50 mode for electrics. Increased model memory doubles the memory (20 models!), while still being compatible with the CAMPac module that adds another 10 models. The 27MHz synthesized module has one rotary adjustment for selecting channels 1-6. On the 75MHz version, two rotary adjustments offer channel choices from 61-90. Modelers simply dial in the channel they want — and go.
All of the 3PK Super’s programming options are contained on two screens for near-instant access. The R303FHS synthesized receiver features Auto Detection, which automatically indicates whether the transmitter is in Hi-Response or FM mode when it is turned on. It’s a great upgrade for any Futaba FM radio.
