Not quite USA, but close: Canada.
IMO, the Aito and the Equalizer are the only indoor pattern airplanes available in North America that can be classified as among the best.

Adam,
why are you only selling those as a package?
I already have motors, speed controls and of course TP480 packs (bought from you).
I am not saying I would buy one if you sold the plane separately, but there is just about zero chance I would buy a combo.

Yup, I tried to find the plane only for sale. Too bad it comes only in a package. :(

Equalizer plane package only - http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=3
The EQ is currently used by Josh Glavin and Jeff Pfeifer for indoor competition. In the last indoor freestyle competition, Josh placed 2nd and Jeff placed 5th!

I agree Adam - wish it was available as a plane only - no combo.

Another vote for Plane only!

I had an Eq before, but things went wrong on the second flight (reversed channels), and I destroyed it.:( I've bought it when it was $50. It's a shame it went back to $65.
The Avalon looks like a nice plane and it is EPP, but $70!!
I wonder why these new planes are coming out with a price tag over $60. You can get a balsa plane for that price.

Not any worse than 65 for depron.

I had only posted the current stock as packages because packages do a few things:
a) Save You Money! I can't offer the prices I want to on our site, but I get around that by combining the products.
b) Save You Money! Shipping is slightly expensive from Canada, especially at the current $US:$CDN exchange rate. By buying more at once you save money on shipping.
c) I really want people to equip this awesome plane with the best equipment. It won't be any good if you use a 3s730 battery or a 45g Axi 2208 or Hacker A20M. Servos in this weight range also vary from terrible to pretty good. The Waypoints are pretty good, and what Donuts recommends.
I'm glad you mentioned responded, though. It made me reconsider my 'tell you how to spend your money' policy. I've posted the kit by itself and the Waypoint servos by themselves. You can mix and match which products you want. To get a good, custom, deal you will have to private message me with the items you want.
If this Aito kit sells (I only have one), I will seriously consider bringing in the Aito V2 in quantity. I've had some interest already, but is anyone here willing to commit to buying at least the kit when they come in? Note that shipping from France is extremely slow (and extremely expensive).
The kit price is $69.99. This is LESS than the Quasar.

I guess with F3P becoming more and more popular, those kits may have more demand.
KillerAir,
I agree, bro. $65 to be trashed on your first "oops", is not fun.

That didn't take long - Our Aito kit sold. That is encouraging news, to me.
Does anyone want to commit to an Aito V2 kit, priced at $70 or less? Shipping would be $16.95US by DHL Ground (4-6 business days) from Draganfly to you (in North America). I can't guarantee a price yet. I will work with Donuts to try to get our cost down, especially for the transit from France.

Malves, it is all a matter of perspective. Foamies are to keep my fingers warm during the long winter season and between the real flights. The real plane is a $1100 kit from France, that just like the foamies, can crash in one oops (while flying or while building). $70 for a very high quality, very complete kit of an airplane developed by some of the best indoor pilots in the world doesn't seem expensive to me.

$70 is on the expensive side for me. Even thou I'd pay to have one. But only because I have no choice. Still, I'd consider buying the "old" shocky. The YAK54 from Ikarus is a great flyer (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406538&highlight=malves) , and it costs less than $50.
I just think it is outrageous the price tag of the new foam planes. It's not just a matter of trashing it on your first flight. I love foamies, but sometimes I feel like getting a balsa planes, just to get more for my money. At least feel like that.

As an american kit manufacturer, its hard to make any money when you give your planes away at $40.00. With all the competition out there its hard enough to sell kits.
Most of the balsa planes are being made in china which is actually probably cheaper than cutting genuine depron here in the states. If we outsourced and got china to cut off brand depron we could probably offer cheaper kits.
Also, the Equalizer has two wings (more depron) and lots of carbon fiber (costly). It also has screen printed graphics and includes a plastic canopy. All this adds to the cost of the kit when compared to a non-printed mono-winged shocky.

The battle between biplanes and monoplanes ist still going strong. At the first qualification contest for the German F3P Championship, the first ten models were all biplanes. One week later at the second contest in Mülheim, 8 out of 10 models to qualify for the Championship were monoplanes.
In 4 weeks from now, they will battle it out in Eschweiler (near Aachen). ;)

What is the general range of wing loading we should be shooting for with a monoplane?

Hi Adam
Ive only watched some of the indoor flying at Cardel Place, but some of the videos Ive seen on this forum have me kind of pumped (pattern habits die hard :D ). Despite the indoor season coming to an end, Im interested in getting something like the Aito strickly for indoor use. Ie, smaller & lighter loading & specifically more 'pattern-ish' than the the Ulinger Extra I fool around with outdoors. If you can send me some details off-line Id appreciate it. I'm interested in package deal as the motor & packs are different than what Im running now. I think a few other other guys are wanting something similar so Im confident a group buy is possibility too.

Roger that. I know some of the other boys have been looking for something better suited to indoor too. One of the bad habits I picked up in racing is buying in multiples of 3! So Im sure between us all we can make a group-buy worth the effort. I wasnt aware until this post that anything like this was available locally. Good marketing!

Aito V2's are in stock. We brought in 8 kits, and some (5) are semi-spoken for. But, they will be allocated in the order that the orders are received.
Best way to place the order is to call 800 979 9794.
Orders of more than one will ship in combined boxes (two or three kits can fit in one box).
Price is $69.99US, plus shipping.
