What hardware are you users of MPLAB using? Any recommendations.
I have used the old Warp 13 programmer and the PICKIT2 and want something that will directly interface with MPLAB. I am told WARP 13 will, but had trouble a while back and gave up.
I was at a Microchip seminar a few moinths ago and bought the PICKIT 2 thinking that it would interface - but it does not seem to do so.

I'm using a USB powered programmer (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=4), imported by Sparkfun and manufactured by OliMEX. It has worked without problem and interfaces cleanly with MPLab.

Hi, Pbunn
Depends of what you do ... and how much chips you "grill" ...
If you will try all kinds of PIC's ... the Picstart plus from µChip will always have support ...
If you work on a limited chips range ... DIY programmers ( hundreds on the Web) are also to be considered.
they may also become obsolete one day ...
More infos = better answered ...

As I stated above, I already have two programmers that are capable and far better than any DIY programmer that I know of. I already have the capability to program most any PIC. My programmers do not interface with MPLAB.
I am looking for the best hardware to interface with MPLAB - The Microchip PICSTART (which is the Microchip low cost interface) is a RS232 interface which is outdated. I want to run MPLAB with a modern notebook. Most notebooks do not have RS232 or Parallel ports any longer. The programmer listed in the above post may be the solution.
