Hello I am new to the hobby and trying to put together an order on the Tower Hobby website. (looking to get the Dumas CC 19' Runabout kit).

My question is: I am looking at getting the Dumas 2025 motor but I don't know which ESC is going to be best for this as the site mentions that the Dumas ESC is not compatible with this motor?

Also do you think this motor is the way to go as the other Dumas 6V is 2.5 times the price (must be more powerful I suppose)

If there is a newbie area online with all this sort of info that would be appreciated is you could point me there.

Cheers. :D

Hi Anton,
The #2025 motor from Dumas is a small Mabuchi type motor whereas the higher priced one you mention is made by Pittman and is a much better motor with ball bearings although it is not that much more powerful. It has more torque but a lower RPM which is ideal for the size prop that model takes. The smaller motor would have to be geared down to work efficiiently. You might try the Model Control Devices
"ULTRA MINICON" speed control which my company makes. If you go to our website http://www.modelcontrol.com and cheque in the GALLERY sections, you will see a number of similar models which use our control.
