First, if this post is not appropriate in this discussion board could the moderator please delete it and would the members accept my apology.

We are a waterski show club and are looking for someone to build us a custom R/C boat that would be used during our upcoming season.

We need:
A remote control "message in a bottle" boat that would deliver a message from behind our dock to the stage area in front of our audience. Our thought is that a remote control flat top boat would work. The boat would have to be large enough for us to lay a 3 to 5 gallon transparent jug (water cooler jug) on its side.

Details.
Electric propulsion
Durable. 22 shows and several practices for our 06 summer season.
Rechargeable batteries
Water conditions: Calm to light chop
Speed: slow (couple of MPH)
Remote range 200 feet

We used to have a company in CA that did our remote control props but unfortunately they are no longer in this business.

If someone is interested in this project please contact me at
skiters@charter.net

Again, if this type of thread is not allowed in this forum please delete and accept my apologies.

I'll be happy to do it! When do you need it? How much can you spend?

Here's the last oddball R/C craft I built:

Nice job on the recovery craft!
We would need the prop by the 3rd week in May. Please send me an email and we can discuss the particulars.
Thanks for your response.

Can you build me a stainless steel prop 5in in dia with a 2 in pitch for surface driven mono, a 6ft Cracker Box. Use sheet steel drill a hole in the middle weld steel tube to accept a 3/16th piano wire drive line. Then twist in the pitch. Dont worry about sharping. Need the blade shape with a little low pitch area to help pop on plane but need to keep the motor load mostly coming from the high pitch area of the blade. So a star tip, plenty rake to keep the thrust cone tight. Nice high speed prop design. You will have to make a jig to insure perfect pitch on both blades, dont notch the hub. I thought about doing my own with silver solder but butane welds arent as strong as gas/oxygen ones with welding rods. I will be using a gear diven scooter motor on 36v 950w motor. The prop should hold up to 6K and with a 2 in pitch, what speed ? At 20% slip, its 45mph. I have no clue how heavy the boat will come out ready to run. If I get 25mph out of it without the wind blowing it off the water I will be happy. I plane on using thin door skin ply and a light frame. I think I can keep it under 20 pounds. 20lb boat shouldnt bend the prop blades. What thickness steel ? My guess is 1/8. Anyhow John what do you think?

Sorry, I can't do anything like that.

Not the 'Prop' you are thinking of........They are talking about a prop as in movie/show props, not a prop to drive a boat???
