If you have any luck finding a club, or a place to fly please let me know. I live in the Matsudo area and there are not many places that I can see to fly.

Dear Seric
I got one answer from a guy in Urayasu, other than that it has been quiet on the eastern front.

Yes, it is rather difficult to find one.
90% of Japan land is mountain. And we have such a few band available for airplane (5 in 40MHz, 10 in 72MHz) Radio interference is a serious issue at r/c flying field near large city area. I know of a club which has only one band! Still situation is better on eastern part of Tokyo. It is common R/C flyers gather from dawn to 8:00AM at local soccer or baseball field before boys/girls team start training in western part of Tokyo area. Large plane flyers go to Ibaraki, Tochigi or further.
Still we survive. It is a good idea to drive around and find one. If there are such public soccer or baseball field, try to see anybody fly there in early Sunday morning (before 8:00AM!) If there are group flying there, try to talk to them. Most of them are friendly and will give you an advice on situation. R/C flyer knows the band situation and worries about radio interference. They want to fly together for sure.
As I sent PM to you, you are welcome to visit my place. But it is not authorized place that I can write publicly. :D Please let me know. I will get agreement with other members. I will be there every weekend. Other members may have more info for lead to r/c flying field.

Keith, do you currently have a place that you are flying at? Im located in Matsudo and there is no place, within 30 minutes driving, that I can see for even attempting to fly a plane. I sometimes fly my small DWG dragonfly heli at the local park, if no one is around.

I usually go to a flat area about 20 minutes drive. It was to be a housing development and nobody is buying the land. It has streets (runways) and grass (soft crash areas). It really is quite good. The wind is week in the early morning and evening. I also can fly at the track at school if it is not being used.

Dear Tony,
I do not have permission to fly at the housing development, I am allowed to fly at my school. We have a soccer field/track.
I buy most of my supplies from Aircraft-world.com (English site) or Aircraft-Japan.com (Japanese language). Sometimes I order from the States. My local hobby shop is pretty close to worthless.
Saturday and Sunday morning I need to go for a drive. A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend has said there is a site in Sodegaura. That would be 10 minutes from the Aqua Line. This is farming country so we do not lack flat land. I just do not know where it is.

Dear Tony,
There is small but good electric store in Chigasaki, but I presume you fly grow. I do not know of any but there should be many in Atsugi or by Sagami-river. Tamagawa river area is too populated.

For shopping, it is best to go to Akihabara. There are 3-4 large stores. Namely Champ, Futaba, Super Rajikon and Rakusei. They carry planes, heli parts and supplies at good price. They do not take care of flying field..

Hi Tony,
I have made a list of the RC shops near Akihabara that I regulary visit. You can view it on my blog at rcuniverse (http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/profile.cfm?section=blog&memid=18211).
I also order a lot from towerhobbies, their fast freindly and very competative in pricing. As for the places to fly and clubs, happy hunting, it won't be easy :)
